Masia Esplanes
The Celler Masia Esplanes is in the Falset valley, on slate, gravel, clay and composite granite grounds that greatly facilitate drainage.
The estate has an extension of 8 hectares of vineyards with productions of between 2,500 and 3,500 kg/ha of the varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Garnatxa del País, Garnatxa Peluda, Garnatxa Blanca, Carinyena and Moscatel.
The names we give to our wines are inspired by these lands that have been part of our history for many years: we produce a "ROIGENC" rosé that is born in a sunset; a "VESSANTS" red wine with the name of a part of our estate; a "MASIA ESPLANES" aged wine, which comes from the best selection of our vineyards; a white "AUSETA" name that represents the settlers (Ausetans) who came to work the lands of the Falset area. And the last of the family and no less important, the "PEDRÍS" which takes us to the stone benches that the small old family house has on the farm.
The climatology of the area can be classified as continental with a Mediterranean influence. Rainfall ranges from 200 to 500 l/m2 per year, where the rain occurs in the months of May-June and October-November with episodes of heavy rain that fall in one or two days. It is also common to have episodes between 4 and 7 months without rain.
